Ann Davis

Ann joined the board in 2018 and was elected president in 2019. “My husband, Marc, and I discovered the North Wilmot Church Thanksgiving weekend in 1999 when visiting college friends who live Newbury. We were thrilled to find this architectural gem while scouting the back roads of Wilmot. Since moving to New Hampshire, we have attended summer services and programs at the church – when we are in town. I am honored to serve as president of the board.”

Marc Davis

Marc joined the board in 2010 when he was president of the Wilmot Historical Society.

“I love history – and as the oldest church structure in Wilmot – this building has welcomed worshipers for nearly 200 years. It is a beautiful treasure that has been a focal point for many, many generations of people from North Wilmot and beyond.”

Catherine Stearns

Catherine joined the board in 2019. Catherine is the organization’s clerk. She is the great, great, granddaughter of Josiah Stearns who built the meeting house in 1829. Her relative, Octavia Stearns, was a trustee for the church and acted as caretaker for the structure until the early 1980s. Catherine lives nearby on the Stearns family homestead. She is the secretary of the meeting house society.

“The story of all my ancestors is connected to the North Wilmot Church. It is part of the warp and woof of my family’s history. It is a special place.”

Louise Jones

Louise joined the board in 2018. For almost 40 years, North Wilmot, N.H., was my home. I lived, with my family, on the corner of Old North and Breezy Hill roads. This is a very rural area, but though apart, its neighbors are especially close, kind, and generous. The North Wilmot Church has been a gathering place for this community, and continues to this day in that tradition. I was invited to join the Board of Directors in August 2018, and was pleased to accept. I want to be involved with, and give back to this organization, which has been such a part of my life and community. My daughter and her family now live in the home she grew up in, and they feel the way I do about the place and surroundings.

Karen and Peter Hoglund

They joined the board in 2021. Karen, who is vice president of the meeting house society, discovered the church in 1987. “I first drove out to North Wilmot. When I came upon the church in the middle of nowhere – it was love at first sight! Peter and I started attending services and enjoyed being there.” The Hoglunds live a 1790 cape in New London. “We both have a deep affection for old buildings and feel strongly about preserving them.”

Bruce Sanborn

Bruce joined the board in 2025. “I was raised in Potter Place. Lived in New London for 34 years raising my family and running my business, Burpee Hill Construction & Cabinets. I moved to Wilmot in 2023 after retirement to pursue many hobbies. Local history and historic buildings are my passion, hence the attraction to the North Wilmot Church. My family history goes way back. Two of the first three Wilmot selectmen were relatives. Jabez Morrill was my fourth great grandfather and Eliphalet Gay was my fourth great grand uncle. I am proud to continue the tradition of community involvement.”

returned to Wilmot with his family. Justin is a descendant of Josiah Stearns, the master
carpenter who built the North Wilmot Church.

Fred Ogmundson

In 1984 Fred was among the founders of the North Wilmot Union Meeting House Society. He served as president from 1999 to 2016. He lives next door to the church and although he has retired from active board work, he maintains a keen interest in the organization, its maintenance of the building, and its annual events.

“Living next door to this treasure I’ve felt a certain obligation to understanding its past and ensuring its future.”
